From this one is born the concepts of duality and balance.įrom the one source described in nearly all metaphysical systems, the dyad or balance of two equal and opposite forces emerges. On the most fundamental level, the universe emanates from the One, which is itself beyond all concepts of being and non-being. For all of these thinkers, the material world was seen as the result of the unfolding of the Divine Intellect. Theologians of various faiths set forth their own metaphysical systems, attempting to reconcile their own faiths with mystical philosophy. While different philosophers disagreed on many details, the model of the universe that was presented by Plato was viewed as a mutual starting point. Christian, Gnostic, Islamic and pagan theologians all worked to uncover the order of the universe. Thus, the origin of sacred geometry is intertwined with the origin of both philosophy and religion.Įarly in the first millennium, there was an explosion of interest in metaphysics. Likewise, all of metaphysics follows from fundamental principles of existence. The structures of geometry follow from basic axioms. In studying geometry, the student was not learning something new, but rather penetrating into his or her own intuitive understanding of the order of the universe. The human mind was seen as capable of penetrating into the mysteries of universe. Over the entrance to Plato’s Academy, the following phrase was posted: “Let no one unversed in geometry enter here.” The study of mathematics and geometry were seen as foundational practices, through which a student could train their mind to the point that they could grasp the highest principles of metaphysics. To these ancient philosophers, the study of geometry was the study of the fundamental principles that governed the creation of the universe. This was known to many ancient civilizations, although it is perhaps most evident in the philosophy of the Greeks. ![]() The symbols of sacred geometry are also connected to the five elements and patterns in nature.įrom the simplest atoms to the largest galaxies, geometry determines the structure and function of the universe. True Match offers shimmer-free, full coverage, whereas Smart Shade tricks the eye instead of actually covering up its shadows. L’Oreal’s True Match accentuates wrinkles, while Almay’s Smart Shade uses SPF to help hinder their formation. But there is enough bad in both formulas to scare off sensitive skin and clog a few pores. Smart Shade offers more of the good stuff (which gives at least some weight to its anti-aging claims), including sodium hyaluronate, vitis vinifera extract, aloe leaf extract, and vitamin E. The ingredients lists for both concealers are chock-full of icky chemicals such as phenoxyethanol, PEGs, and silicones-a-plenty. The one quality that the two products share is a paraben-happy formulator. In a spot test on my hand with both concealers, Smart Shade outperformed True Match in lasting power, so much so that I had to scrub the skin-colored smear vigorously with soap and water to make it disappear. ![]() Though it doesn’t collect in creases like True Match, Smart Shade also doesn’t cover shadows as thoroughly as True Match. The downside to Smart Shade’s eye-brightening effect is that minute glittery specks are visible to the naked eye. Smart Shade seems to work with the help of light-reflecting pigments, whereas True Match relies on straight-up coverage. The first difference I noticed between True Match and Smart Shade was that the latter feels more moisturizing and looks more sheer. As promised, the concealer blends in readily, transforming into a skin-suiting shade. Smart Shade’s creamy product comes out of the tube nearly white, with tiny dark flecks. I always get the lightest shade in a concealer for under-eye use, since I have a fair complexion and the purpose is to lighten the skin, after all. Smart Shade had a few selling points: sun protection to fend off wrinkles, color-matching technology, and the buzzword “anti-aging” in its name. Would my spontaneous CVS run leave me with a superior replacement? My smile lines prefer to keep a low profile. I began to grow tired of keeping a vigilant watch on my under-eye skin to make sure there weren’t ripples of residual concealer in my (formerly inconspicuous) creases. (This is gross, but I have improvised with spit on more than one occasion.) Eye cream is also essential because True Match dries quickly, and over time, this effect can lead to clumping of the product in skin creases. Though it has a fluid consistency, True Match needs a base of eye cream to spread on evenly - a problem when you need a touch-up in the middle of the day with no cream on hand. The more I relied on this concealer to counteract my eyes’ weary circles, the more I realized its shortcomings. However, I’ve always known that True Match was not my one true love. The shadows under my eyes seemed to get a dose of sunlight each morning thanks to True Match. Among other liquid concealers, it won me over with its creamy texture, instant coverage, and easy blendability. For the past few years, I have been faithful to L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Concealer as my go-to under-eye circle eraser. I could probably survive on those two products alone. Under-eye concealer is as essential to my morning makeup routine as mascara. While I find that most drugstore moisturizers can’t measure up to their premium counterparts, I think that many low-end makeup products can rival more expensive versions. Five minutes later, I was walking out of the store with two new purchases: Almay Clear Complexion Concealer (an old favorite) and Almay Smart Shade SPF 20 Anti-Aging Concealer. I noticed a flurry of “Buy one, get one 50% off” stickers in the Almay section, and so naturally, I took the bait. It's not difficult to imagine he could (and would) kill for a better spot. He wasn't seen again after reaching the golf-loving gator's main attraction.ĭid Monty scrap Bonnie to take his spot in the band? If the Van ending's after-credits scene proves anything, it's that Monty is happy to usurp even Freddy and become the face of the band, with that finale showing a newspaper clipping of Monty becoming the band's lead singer. It notes that Bonnie headed from his Green Room to the East Arcade, remained there for two hours, then headed to Monty Golf. His final whereabouts are mentioned during the "MISSING" message, which can be found through a gate in the same area Freddy takes you to receive First Aid at 11:00 PM. Things get extra juicy when you find out that the blue rabbit was last seen heading into Monty Golf before his absence. The manager writing the messages muses that Monty could become even bigger than Bonnie through his new role. This message – titled "Understudy" – reveals that Monty took over the role of bass player from Bonnie after he disappeared. The entrance is just outside the animatronics' green rooms. In terms of the messages, you'll find one near the stairs to the security room above the stage. The idea comes through several messages scattered throughout the Pizzaplex and the post-credits scene following the ending where Freddy and Gregory steal a van. The first is that Bonnie was actually taken down by Monty Gator. Warning, there are major spoilers ahead for two of the game's main endings. So, where is he? Well, it seems there are two solid theories as to what happened to Bonnie. In short, Bonnie's been away for a while and it doesn't seem like he's coming back any time soon. And, just in case you figured he might just be off receiving maintenance, the "Re-Theme" message claims that management is pushing for a rebranding of Bonnie Bowl as guests are asking too many questions about the missing character ( you can see the message above).
